1980 Yamaha XT500...500cc "Thumper", kick start only...thank goodness for the compression release, which makes starting an esasy operation (usually!). Seems to me almost an ideal motorcycle...the looks are right, it's lightweight, gets 55-60mpg, and has great performance. The single cylinder thumping vibration can wear on you after a while, however. Maybe with an engine balancer shaft and/or rubber mounting it, the bike would indeed be an ideal motorcycle.
