2009 ARCTIC CAT Crossfire 1000 Sno Pro

The do-it-all sled does it all even better. The Crossfire ride is as effective in the powder as it is on the trail. And with four proven lay down engines to choose from, the 1000, the 800, the 600 and the 500, there's more than enough horsepower to give both worlds a good dusting. That's the lowdown on the 2-stroke EFI performance lay downs. Here's what's new for 2009. We've extended the track length from 136 inches to 141 inches to give you even more freedom in the powder. Add to that the brilliantly designed telescoping handlebars on Sno Pro models and now you can adjust for anything: standing, sitting, hanging off the side and whatever else you're into. The 800 and 1000 models shed cold hard poundage with a new electronic engine reverse system. Press a button, and the engine backs you up smooth as silk. The front suspension gets beefy double-wishbone A-arms with race-bred spindles. The rear gets a new skid design and the Sno Pro models benefit from weight-saving FOX Float skids.
 

FOX® FLOAT REAR SKID: We did away with the torsion springs and redesigned the frame to decrease unsprung weight while reducing unwanted track tensioning. This improves ride quality and comfort. The rear end is dampered with a lightweight aluminum FOX® Zero Pro gas shock on the front arm and a FOX Float shock on the rear arm.


FOX® FLOAT SKI SHOCKS: FOX® Float Ski Shocks give you the ultimate in suspension performance. The shocks utilize FOX's quick-adjust load optimizing air technology and are up to 6 lbs. lighter than the conventional coil-over shock.


TELESCOPING HANDLEBARS: The mountain handlebar gets a new telescoping steering system that creates up and down adjustability without adding extra weight. Drop it down on the trail. Raise it up in the powder. The telescoping handlebar features easy one hand adjustment with 12 positions.


1000 LAY DOWN ENGINE: The 1000 engine is a 2-Stroke 999cc Liquid Twin with Batteryless Electronic Fuel injection. The engine is "laid down" in the chassis to move snowmobile mass toward the ground and effectively lower the center of gravity. BEFI adjusts for temperature and altitude. In addition you can count on quick starts, great fuel economy and cleaner emissions. The 1000 also features an Exhaust Pipe Temperature Sensor™ and Electronic APV™ Exhaust Valves to regulate pipe temperature, optimize performance and cut down emissions.


ENGINE REVERSE: Push-button electronic reverse gets even better. Now a feature of the engine, not only is it smooth, it's also a weight saver that sheds 8 pounds.


141" COBRA TRACK: This is the Cobra Track measuring 141" with 1.25" lugs on standard models and 141" with 1.5" lugs on Sno Pro models.


DELUXE GAUGE: The deluxe gauge lets you choose between digital and analog speed and tach readouts. There is also an odometer, two trip meters, engine hour meter, clock, fuel level indicator, altimeter, reverse indicator and warning lights. It also serves as a hub for the optional Cat Comm communications system.
